Biomechanics of Birth Workshop
Saturday 10th October, 2026 at The Practice, Birch. (11am - 1pm)
This is a 2hr workshop, for pregnant women + a birth partner.
Birth preparation starts with understanding and supporting the biomechanics of your pelvis and birth canal! As you entered into your pregnancy you’ll have been told what not to eat, the positions to avoid and all the things that you’re no longer safely able to continue.
But what about the good stuff?
This workshop is designed to help you optimise your body’s positioning and physiology for a better birth and a more comfortable pregnancy too.
In practice, I often see women who’ve been experiencing pelvic girdle pain, or those who have had a previously traumatic birth, who have no idea when they come to see me that there’s so much you can do at home to help your body adapt to this massive change.
In this workshop you’ll learn:
an overview of your pelvic anatomy, so you can understand why certain things help and others aggravate your pelvis
the synergy between the 3 Ps (power, passage, passenger) and why that matters for your birth
daily activities to support you through different stages of pregnancy
birth specific techniques that can help if labour slows down
Tickets are sold per pair - meaning you purchase one ticket and that covers you and your chosen birth partner.
